JBS establishes new vision for sustainable development objectives.

Ahead of the report’s release, Mr. Nogueira stated that the company’s goal is to “be the greatest in all we do”. We have never had more responsibility as a global food company, and it will take the entire value chain to make a difference moving forward. No success would be possible without our team members, farmer and rancher partners, customers, and stockholders.

JBS also plans to be carbon neutral by 2040. The meat and poultry processor also plans to reduce scope 1+2 GHG emission intensity by 30% by 2030. By 2030, the corporation plans to use 60% renewable energy and 15% less water.

These include $1 billion on emission reduction projects at corporate sites and $100 million in R&D to help producers scale up regenerative agricultural practises.

JBS has promised a 30% improvement in the JBS Worldwide Safety Index and a global animal welfare scorecard by 2030.

Senior executive compensation will be related to environmental goals and interim targets will be aligned to SBTi standards.

Finally, JBS vowed to end illicit deforestation in the Amazon and other Brazilian biomes by 2025, and to improve traceability to ensure deforestation-free supply chains.
