Kia business sites to reduce emissions to zero

Announcing in July that it would join the RE100 program, Kia aspires to achieve zero emissions across all elements of its business, including production facilities, by 2045. Climate Group’s RE100 initiative aims to make electricity production 100% renewable.

By 2030, all electricity at Kia’s abroad facilities will be renewable, and by 2040, all electricity at Kia’s domestic sites will be as well. Kia’s Slovakia production site has already switched to 100% green energy generation in line with RE100’s promise.

Kia will actively migrate to solar energy generation for commercial sites in Korea, the US, China, and India.

Kia plans to reduce carbon emissions by 1% year by improving production efficiency. Kia will use new technologies including Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) to achieve this decrease.

Kia will also electrify its entire company fleet by 2030.
