I see lots of posts on LinkedIn on health and wellness and on the overall lifestyle that is needed for us. However, maintaining a lifestyle where both sustainability and wellness are difficult to manage together. You need to be disciplined to do so. This article will focus on hospitality and how it’s solving these two segments so well with the efforts that Ms. Emmy is putting in.
Today, I am going to introduce you all to Ms. Emmy Nguyen, Regional Sustainability Director at Six Senses Hotels, Resorts, and Spas in Vietnam. Let’s read what she thinks about sustainability and wellness in general and some of her work at Six Senses.
Sustainability is not a destination, it is a journey of inspiring and inspired to do good for the Earth and ourselves.
At Six Senses- “Sustainability is not what they do! It is what they are”
Sustainability Funds are managed by each property and are used for supporting projects surrounding #nature and #community. Typically, endangered #animal #conservation projects are set up where we go, Water for All project brings #cleanwater and #sanitation to the community…
Sustainability Guidelines are guidelines for each employee, each department, and each property to carry out their mission in the journey of #sustainabledevelopment. With ambitious campaigns about #plasticfree & #zerowaste, they have achieved positive results in the past few years. They promote the use of renewable energy and set energy reduction targets to reduce #energy consumption to the maximum.
#earth Lab is where they communicate the work happening on and off-site at each property. All guests and staffs are welcome to join and learn some handy life hacks, such as making do-it-yourself compost and #chemical-free detergent or extracting the essential oils from herbs grown in our organic gardens.

The hospitality business is one that places a significant emphasis on sustainability, which may be defined as the use of a resource in such a way as to prevent it from being depleted or harmed. The success of organisations that are in the hospitality business is dependent on those organisations’ efforts to maintain the natural and cultural features that entice travellers to visit their areas. Not doing so has consequences.
Most people care about the environment and want to support sustainable tourism, but the movement isn’t always clear. Green travel, ecotourism, responsible travel, ethical tourism, and others are related terms. These solutions go beyond reusing hotel linens or using reusable water bottles instead of single-use plastic bottles.
According to National Geographic, sustainable tourism is a “framework for engaging travelers and the travel industry at large in supporting goals that include protecting the environment, addressing climate change, minimizing plastic consumption, and expanding economic development in communities affected by tourism.”
